Mark made his professional acting debut portraying Linus in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown in the 1968/69 Washington DC. National Company. This cast was chosen to do a command performance at the Lyndon Johnson White House. In November 1971, Baker appeared at the Mercer O’Casey Theatre playing the Boy in Love Me, Love My Children.
Baker appeared on Broadway in 1974 in the title role of Candide, a performance which earned him a Theatre World Award and a nomination for the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical.
In 1976, Mark Baker appeared in the romantic adventure film Swashbuckler. The following year, he supplied the voice acting for Raggedy Andy in the animated film Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure. Mark served as assistant director to Ken Russell in the 1977 film Valentino.
Mark appeared as Otto Kringelein in the Broadway international tour of Grand Hotel at venues throughout America, Canada and Japan, and received a Helen Hayes Award for his performance at the Kennedy Center.
Other venues at which Baker has performed include The Public Theater and what was then referred to as the Martin Beck Theatre. More recently he appeared on a studio recording of George Gershwin’s Tip-Toes in 2001.
Mark spent the last two decades of his life devoted to the revitalization of the Embassy Theatre in his hometown of Cumberland, Maryland, overseeing the operations of the Embassy.
The Embassy Theatre is the premiere entertainment venue on the downtown Cumberland mall.

Lauryn Moyer (Purser) is a senior who has performed in local theatre for 9 years. Some of her favorite performances have been with Apple Alley Players, Acting Out for Good, Potomac State College, and she is thrilled to be back on stage at the Embassy! She most recently was seen as Lily in the MCCA Junior Theatre Festival production of Alice in Wonderland, JR. They will perform in January at the Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta, GA. Lauryn thanks her family for their support and would like to express appreciation to all the local theatre groups for providing an opportunity for young performers.

⚓️Meet the Cast of Anything Goes!⚓️
Kevin Shreve (Captain) is excited to be sailing as the captain of the S.S. American. Kevin has been acting since 1982 when he accepted his first role as Jesse Kiplinger in Neil Simon’s Plaza Suite. In recent years, Kevin has performed with both Potomac State College and Apple Alley in productions such as Oklahoma, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Mary Poppins, Big River, The Wizard of Oz, Les Miserables and Fiddler On The Roof. At the Embassy Theatre, Kevin has been seen in Arsenic and Old Lace, Guys and Dolls, Camelot, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, All My Sons and many others. Besides theatre, Kevin works as a Senior Program Manager at Northrop Grumman, has a small beef farm, a couple Aussie’s, and enjoys spending time with his wife, Judy, and his two sons, Caleb and Zach.
